THE best version of Art of Fighting 1.(In options, set to 6-button pad and quick save, trust me.)
It unfortunately does away with screen scrolling and visible damage, but retains a much crisper experience for it.
It also has an interesting gameplay mechanic: Triangle jumping
You basically jump off of the wall at your opponent, to perform a powerful jump-kick. This is the second or third iteration of this exact game, and it has it down pat and has, in my opinion, the most solid controls for this game. This game is even more solid than Art of Fighting 2.
It doesn't quite get the (Forward, down, down-forward punch)Dragon punch motion quite right, you have to press them in sequence: Forward, let go, down, let go, down-forward Punch.
But this game has the King Of Fighters style controls: Light punch, Heavy Punch, Light Kick, Heavy Kick. It also has two taunt buttons, for which you also use to do the triangle jump, you can also kick backwards with it if you jump over them.
There is a charge guage you have to keep charged up if you want to use special moves much, and it requires a FULL guage to do the two Super Attacks(I don't remember what they're called, but that's their equivalent.)
Haoh-Sho-Ko-Ken(You learn it at the training stage, the first one two fights in, or restart: Perform 8( or 10) Haohshokokens): Forward, Back, Down-back, Down, Down-forward, Forward Punch(All smooth, rolling motion, and 1 properly timed punch button press.)
The Ryoku-Ranbu(Dragon/Tiger Fandago(Dance), you have to have little to no health(Less than one eighth) and a FULL Energy Bar) : Down, Down-forward, Forward Punch Kick Taunt(If memory serves)
You will do a small dash forward, so do it close, if it lands you will perform a severe punching and kicking combo that deals half health of damage.
